Notes of Comrade Tupitsin

This chapter deals with the notes
that were sent from Brest to Minsk by Tupitsin, a high-rank
Soviet official on the 25th of June 1941. The notes
provide an insight into the tragic events in Brest in the
opening days o the war. The authors tries to explain the cause
of the immense losses and the quick retreat of the Red Army.
In the
drawing by Vladimir Gebenko we see the retreat of the Soviet
troops from Brest early in the morning of the 22nd of June.
